Bob Friend said he had been trying to contact the Sheriff’s office all morning on Monday with little luck. “I don’t think I’m the only one a little upset,” he told The Cadiz Record.
Friend’s concern came about when tax bills arrived on Saturday with a Monday date designated as the payment date in order to receive a discount. “This isn’t quite fair,” Friend noted, “I thought we had more time.”
In fact, taxpayers will have the entire month of October to pay their tax bill and still receive their discount, according to Trigg County Sheriff Randy Clark.
“It’s been very busy,” Clark said, “in fact it’s been hectic. But people have been understanding about it.”
