The multi-county partnership between Trigg, Todd and Christian Counties and a recent Trip to Toronto Canada appears to have yielded dividends with a Canadian manufacturer’s plan to visit the area. Though uncommitted to building in any of the three Counties, Trigg County Economic Development Commission Director Sharon Butts said that the manufacturer has scheduled a visit for October 15 to tour the area and meet community leaders and other industrial managers.

The EDC met at the EDC Conference Room on October 4 at 8 a.m. for a special-called meeting.

Butts said that the Southwest Kentucky Economic Development Association, who assisted with logistics on the trip, also set appointments between the manufacturer and other communities that did not visit Toronto with the tri-county consortium.

EDC member Dan Bozarth said, “I’m not worried. They are spending two hours there, but two days here.”

The manufacturer, from Ontario, builds metal and plastic components for appliances.
