The EDC met at the EDC Conference Room on October 4 at 8 a.m. for a special-called meeting.
Butts said that the Southwest Kentucky Economic Development Association, who assisted with logistics on the trip, also set appointments between the manufacturer and other communities that did not visit Toronto with the tri-county consortium.
EDC member Dan Bozarth said, “I’m not worried. They are spending two hours there, but two days here.”
The manufacturer, from Ontario, builds metal and plastic components for appliances.
Butts said that to court the business, she planned several meals and a golf outing for a representative with an industrial manager from each of the three counties. Donnie Holland, President of Benson International will represent Trigg County. She added that she would send two country hams, one for the visiting representative, and one for the firm’s president.
Board Member Jim Wallace suggested sending precooked hams.
