Thanks to the passing of Kerry Collins and the toe of Rob Bironas the Titans pulled out the win and Bironas set an NFL record for the most field goals – eight – in one game.
The contest is getting closer and closer as the season continues and this week there were six entries missing only three games and another four who missed only two games.
There were three entrants who only missed one game – two of them due to the Bironas record and the other selecting Trigg – so the tiebreaker had to be used. (The 12th game was tossed our for everyone due to an error in listing of the Miami game.)
The highest number of points scored last week of the teams listed involved the Florida/Kentucky game in which Florida racked up 45 points in there 45-37 win.
Larry Walker was closest to that number with his pick of 42. Both Michael Estes and Mike Gates had selected 51 and 56 respectively.
For his efforts Walker will pick up $25 cash and also has become eligible for the $300 first place at the end of the contest.
There are only five more weeks to go and the contest is open to everyone at no cost. The teams are listed on Page B3 and the entries must be returned to our office prior to Friday afternoon at 4:30 or postmarked no later than Friday to be eligible.
No one has been lucky enough to win the contest twice, which means there are now seven people hoping to pick up the $300.
