Funeral services for James Loys Bryant, 92, of Cadiz, were conducted on Monday, October 22, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Irvin Darnall officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Bryant died on Friday, October 19, 2007, at 4:54 a.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Bryant was born on November 4, 1914, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late James Andrew and Mintie Lee Downs Bryant.

Mr. Bryant was a retired carpenter and farmer; was a member of Pugh Flat Baptist Church; and was a Kentucky Colonel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paul Larry Bryant; three brothers, Hicks Bryant, Sam Bryant, and John Bryant; and two sisters, Mary Noel and Mildred Williams.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elna Hutchison Bryant of Cadiz; a brother, Billy Bryant of Cadiz; and two sisters, Martha Bridges of Cadiz and Marie Sholar of Monument, Colo.

Serving as pallbearers were Jeff Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, Sammy Bryant, David Bryant, John Bryant, and Mike Williams.

Honorary pallbearers were Marion Sisk, Gary Lester, Anthony France, J.D. Wade, John Zook, Don Mock, Mach Cunningham, James Hughes, Craig Perry, and Bill Calhoun.
