However, all but two of those entered missed that contest. It must have been the week of the Bulldogs because the Bulldogs from Mississippi State crushed the Wildcats by a 31-14 score while the Gators fell to the Bulldogs from Georgia 42-30.
Also making three errors were Hulett Johnson and Mike Gates. However, both of those entreis had chosen 44 as the high points to be scored and Cunningham had selected 49. The high score came when Ft. Campbell rolled up 59 points in its win over Trigg 59-7.
(The number eight entry was scratched from the list as it contained a game played October 20.)
Another game giving trouble was between Marshall County and Mayfield. The once powerful Mayfield crew met up with a team from Marshall County that showed how the game is played and gave the Cards a 30-7 loss.
For his persistence, Cunningham will take home a $25 cash prize and have his name entered into the $300 drawing at the close of the season.
There are only four more weeks left in the contest and there is no charge to enter. Each week a $25 cash winner is selected and their name will be eligible for the grand prize at the end of the contest.
Entries must be in our office prior to the close of business on Friday, or postmarked no later than Friday afternoon. The office is located at 58 Nunn Blvd. and the mailing address is The Cadiz Record, P O Box 1670, Cadiz KY 42211.
With eight weeks already in the books, there have been eight different winners who have become eligible for the Grand Prize. Week nine’s contest is found on Page B3 this week and each of the teams are listed among the advertisements on the page.
Nobody has been able to reach to top of the contest on more than one occasion.
