A relatively new Cadiz business will chipping in with the rest of Trigg County this year to make a few children’s Christmases happier.

Beth Noel, manager of Cadiz Cash Express, said that this would be the first year that the business would be holding a toy and coat drive for local children since they opened in July 2007. She said that there are 14 Cash Expresses, including the Cadiz branch, located in the region and that they all have Christmas drives. The other locations include Benton, Murray, Princeton, Henderson, Paducah, Hopkinsville and Morganfield. She said they have all held Christmas drives since opening. Although she wasn’t sure when the first branch opened, she estimated that the toy drives had been going on for at least 10 years in the area.

Noel said she would accept new and used toys and coats, as well as other clothes. She said people should feel free to bring anything they like and that she is excited about the drive. She said that the business would also be holding a customer appreciation day soon and that people will be able to eat free food and get free pictures taken with Santa Claus. She said she did not know when the date would be before press time Monday.

Although the flyers advertising the toy and coat drive around town say that donations could be given until Dec. 10, Noel said the deadline had been extended until Dec. 15.
