Dr. Tom Martin and Rev. Jim Hazelrigg officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
Mr. Wilson died on Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at 1 p.m., at the Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville, following a short illness.
Mr. Wilson was born on March 7, 1912, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Charles Monroe and Pearlie Mae Hall Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was retired from the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and a retired farmer; member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121 since 1933; and was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church, where he was a Deacon, Elder and Trustee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Plomer C. Wilson, Edward Wilson, and James Garnett Wilson; a sister, Mary Grace Crisp; and a son-in-law, David Zachary.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Charlotte Cunningham Wilson of Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law, Chappell R. and Jane Ellen Wilson of Cadiz; two daughters and son-in-law, Louise Wilson Zachary of Carlisle, and Julia Catherine Wilson and Don Webster of Cadiz; four grandchildren, Kevin Allen Zachary, Derek Wilson Zachary, Robin Johnson Salyers, and Kara Lea Johnson Ballard; two step-grandchildren, Brad Webster and Bart Webster; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Salyers Bennett, Kara V. Salyers, Mason Ray Peters, Alec Austin Peters, and Nathan Allen Zachary; two step-great grandchildren, Savannah Webster and Virginia Webster; and two great-great grandchildren, Kaley Bennett and Allie Bennett.
The Cadiz Christian Church Choir with Laura Grigson, pianist, provided the music.
Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Zachary, Derek Zachary, Brad Webster, David Salyers, Ronald Crisp, and Don Webster.
