Architect Dennis Arthur’s latest rendering of the Trigg County Justice Center, with a change to the windows, reduced height of the eastern clock tower, and change to brick work.
According to Humphries, the ceremony will feature short addresses by Circuit Court Judge C.A. “Woody” Woodall III, Keynote Speaker and State Supreme Court Justice Bill Cunningham and a performance of “My Old Kentucky Home” by the Trigg County High School Marching Band.
Woodall, a member of the Project Development Board asked the construction management group representative, Richard Mitchell to note that the board agreed to dub the new structure the Trigg County Justice Center, not the Judicial Center as noted on some signs. “Judicial center sounds like the building is just for judges, but it’s not. This is a building for the people to obtain justice.”
Mitchell said that the names of similar buildings varied from county to county, but would note the board’s decision on future signage.
Woodall added that since several downtown merchants “suffered the pains” of the construction project, he would like to see them receive invitations to the groundbreaking as a gesture of good will.
Humphries agreed with Woodall’s assessment and added that all citizens of the county would be welcome at the event.
