Funeral services for Thomas B. Colley, 78, of Staunton, Ill., formerly of Trigg County, were conducted on Monday, November 19, 2007, at 10 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. John Mitchell officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Colley Family Cemetery in Canton.

Mr. Collie died on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at 3:15 p.m., at his home, following a long illness.

Mr. Collie was born on October 13, 1929, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Hoy Hamilton and Hallie Thomas Cook Colley.

Mr. Collie was a retired farmer and Steelworker; was of the Baptist Faith; was a member of NRA, American Coon Hunters Association, and Plott Hound Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eliza B. Adams Colley; and three brothers, Wesley Colley, Ray Colley, and Joe Colley.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas E. and Cherly Colley, Johnny R. and Connie Colley, and Lonnie D. and Connie Colley, all of Staunton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Penny A. and Todd Ambuel of Edwardsville, Ill., Peggy L. Clark, Patty S. and Don Stefani, and Claudia Pam Colley, all of Staunton; three brothers, Ragon Barnes of Louisville, Jack Colley of Cerulean, and Walter “Junior” Colley of Paducah; three sisters, Juanita Dunning, Ruby Carroll, and Dorothy Crady, all of Eddyville; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Colley, Lonnie Colley, Don Stefani, Scott Colley, Steven Clark, Gayle Colley, and Kenneth Thomas..
