The free meal, provided by the LRBA and other churches begins at 11 a.m. and lasts until 1 p.m. Menu items consist of turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn and a selection of desserts sure to please everyone.
Last year, the LRBA and friends served approximately 390 meals, down from years past, and had 90 volunteers on hand to serve and clean up.
“This started originally so people would not have to eat alone on Thanksgiving Day, not just the needy,” said Sherri Littlejohn of the LRBA. “We have it set up for anyone to eat, and if a person can’t get out to the dinner, we will deliver it to them.”
Littlejohn asked that all delivery orders be made by noon on November 21 to allow for time to plan the delivery route. Call 522-7066 for more details.
