The Trigg County Toys for Tots program unites personnel from the Ambulance Service with members of the community to provide toys for underprivileged children who might not expect a Christmas at home without some help.
As of Thursday, Oiler, her husband Mark, and retired Trigg County Ambulance Director Nell Thomas worked at the old Adult Education Center bundling toys into bags to be distributed on December 22 to needy and deserving children in the community.
“I can’t imagine how many toys we have. I haven’t even counted the bags. Each child gets a bag. We have a room for general toys, a room for girls a room for boys and more. We still have one shopper out looking for toys. When she gets back, we’ll be done,” said Oiler.
