Graveside inurnment services, with military honors provided by the Marion County Honor Guard was held on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at Florida Veterans National Cemetery. Robert Bruce Chapel East, Ocala, was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Broadbent died on Tuesday, December 11, 2007.

Mr. Broadbent was born on March 18, 1933, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Leslie Lee “Pete” and Alma Meador Broadbent.

Mr. Broadbent was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served in the Korean War, and received the Purple Heart for being wounded in combat; was a life member of the DAV, VFW, and the Marine Corps League.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Hopson Broadbent; and a sister, Lilly Lee Broadbent.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Alice Broadbent, of Ocala, Fla.; two sons, Michael Broadbent of Hopkinsville and Peter Broadbent of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Debra Sue Broadbent of San Diego, Calif., and Alma Lee Broadbent of Ocala, Fla.; a brother, Bobby Broadbent of Cadiz; two sisters, Elizabeth Locatelli of Las Vegas, Nev., and Marilyn Kik of Madisonville; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
