Trigg County Red Cross President Char Frankhouser said that of all the potential shelters offered, none would be activated until county emergency management officials declared an emergency and appropriate shelters were selected by the American Red Cross.
Frankhouser said that representatives from the following organizations arrived to receive information on shelters: Lake Barkley State Resort Park, who hosted the meeting, along with Cadiz United Methodist Church, Canton Baptist Church, Liberty Point Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church, St. Stephen Catholic Church, Trigg County Baptist Church and Wallonia Baptist Church. Several members of Trigg County’s all-volunteer Red Cross Chapter also attended the meeting. She said that until an emergency was declared and shelters selected based on need, none of the facilities would operate as shelters.
