Funeral services for Jewell Wade Delawson, 85, of Hopkinsville, formerly of Trigg County, were conducted on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 10 a.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Ronnie Sivells officiated at the services. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Delawson died on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 2:55 p.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, of natural causes.

Mr. Delawson was born on November 1, 1922, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Wade and Ethel Mae Oliver Delawson.

Mr. Delawson was retired from Pennyrile Rural Electric; was a member of Wallonia Christian Church; and was a member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121, Moose Lodge #1029, and Eagles 3423.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Orbie Delawson; a sister, Susie Bell Oliver; step son, Rocky Wright; and step daughter, Linda Holder.

Survivors include his wife, Nina Louise Carneyhan Delawson of Hopkinsville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patricia Delawson of Hopkinsville; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Steve Illgen of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; two step sons, Frank Wright and Timmy Wright, both of Hopkinsville; step daughter, Carolyn Wright of Hopkinsville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Gene and June Delawson of Crofton and Wiley Delawson of Princeton; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Susie Delawson, pianist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Jamison Mitchell, Kyle Illgen, Frank Wright, Eric Gillard, Christopher Wright, Jonathan Gillard, Bobby Carneyhan, and Ricky Carneyhan.
