Law enforcement reports are compiled by The Cadiz Record from the files of the Cadiz Police Department and Trigg County Sheriff.

Menacing

Deputy Dane Hughes of the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office served a warrant against Brenda Denise Boggess, 34 of South Road Cadiz for an alleged case of menacing on February 27. The uniform citation did not include any additional details about the case or the actual warrant.

Cocaine Possession

Cadiz Police Officers Chad Grace and Sgt. Rick Martin arrested 46-year-old Rhonda G. Wells of Benton for alleged Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Cocaine during a routine traffic stop on February 27.

The report said that the suspect appeared nervous after the stop and gave consent to search her vehicle. The two officers said that Wells admitted to having a pipe and a push rod. After arresting Wells, the officers said that they transported her to their headquarters and observed her throwing a sack of suspected crack cocaine under a desk where she sat.

Marijuana and other drugs

Deputy Jimmy Godair said that he received a complaint on February 27 from a resident of a Main Street Apartment about a man beating on the walls of an adjoining unit and screaming. Upon responding to the complaint, Godair said that he found 27-year-old Eric Richardson of Main Street, Cadiz in the unit.

Godair’s report said that the suspect invited officers into the apartment and found a pan of marijuana in “plain view.” Upon arrest, police alleged they found oxycodone pills on the suspect, which were not stored in the proper container and a second bag of marijuana.

Police charged Richardson with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Prescription not in a Proper Container and Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree.

Restraining Order Violation

On March 2, Deputy Matt Riddle said that he responded to an allegation of an assault against a man listed on the report as Henry Morgan Junior Spann III, 41, of Cerulean Road Cadiz, by another party. Riddle said that Spann had a Domestic Violence Order against him by the second party.

During the investigation Spann advised Riddle that he possessed a firearm at the home. Riddle said that he found the weapon, identified as a muzzle-loading rifle. Riddle advised Spann of the order and arrested him for violation. After processing at the Cadiz Police Department, Spann was lodged at the Christian County Jail.
