The office of Rep. John Tilley (D-Hopkinsville) made the announcement last week, saying that he secured $2.6 million for water and sewer projects in the Eighth District. This also included four Christian County projects totaling $1.85 million.
“I am pleased I was able to put these important projects into the budget,” Tilley said in a press release. “All of these are critical to the critical infrastructure improvements we are making in Christian and Trigg counties.”
Cadiz Public Works Director Kerry said the sewer project had “been in the works for four or five years.” He said that the city had requested $900,000 through the Pennyrile Area Development District office to replace the existing sewer line with a bigger one.
“They rank the projects, and I guess it finally got to the top,” Fowler said.
