The Wildcats come into the 2008 off of the school’s first district title in 28 years. Last year also marked consecutive region tournament appearances for the first time in over 40 years.  The 17 wins were also the most since the 1986 team won 19 games. With this in mind the Diamond Club helped Coach Jackie Sholar introduce his young 2008 Wildcat Baseball team Saturday night at the High School Cafeteria.

Guests were welcomed by players and Diamond Club members and the players also became servers for the evening bring hamburger and cheeseburger meals to each of the guests in attendance.

The program for the evening included a meal, a highlight and introduction video produced by senior, Tyler Greenman, followed by Coach Sholar introducing the varsity players and Assistant Coach Jason Wilson announcing the JV squad.

Chris Green, Diamond Club President, thanked the crowd for attending thanked the community for helping the second year booster club to raise over $20,000 for the program. Part of those funds went toward last year’s Florida tournament trip.

Green also announced that the club at hit a membership high of 28 families as part of the current diamond club membership. The president also explained that funds from the club’s fund raising would go to a scholarship fund that will help senior players who will be attending a College, University, or Technical school after graduation.
