Shane Banks pitched for Trigg County picking up his first win of the season. Jamey Guinn had a pair of RBI singles and a triple as part of the 10-hit offensive attack, which was more than their total hits in the first two games combined. Shane Banks (1-1) pitched a complete game five-hitter, striking out five and walking none. The lone run he allowed was unearned.
Guinn and Stagner each had RBI singles in the first inning to stake Trigg County to a 2-0 lead. Mitch Rogers drove a run home with a ground out in the third inning and Donald Bush had an RBI double in the third inning that preceded a Guinn RBI single. Trigg added two runs in the sixth inning on an RBI single by R.J. Sholar and a bases loaded walk to Tyler Greenman. Josh Green also had two hits for the Wildcats, who improved to 1-2 on the season.
The Wildcats are due to face Caldwell County on Thursday, Russellville on Friday and Murray High next Monday at the Trigg County Recreation Complex.
