Is your lawn looking bare after the long winter? Lake Barkley State Resort Park Naturalist Jenny Howard announced a tree give-away on April 4, in conjunction with Kentucky Arbor Day.

According to Howard, Don Lam of the Kentucky Division of Forestry will be on hand at the park’s Convention Centre at 9 a.m. to lead guests on a 45-minute “Tree Appreciation Hike.” She said that Lam plans to discuss the historical and ecological significance of trees.

“We’ll be back in time to meet for a free Kentucky tree give-away, with two varieties of oak, potentially some redbud and pine trees,” said Howard.

She added that the give-away will happen rain or shine at 10 a.m.
