Rev. R.L. Boyd officiated at the services. Burial followed in Cave Springs Cemetery in Hopkinsville.
Mr. Pettigrew died on Monday, March 31, 2008, at 2:16 a.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
Mr. Pettigrew was born on September 21, 1940, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Robert and Vinnie Rascoe Pettigrew.
Mr. Pettigrew was a retired custodian of 30 years at the Christian County High School and was a member of McCarroll Hill Baptist Church in Cerulean.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mack Pettigrew; a son; a brother; and two sisters.
Survivors include a son, Winfred J. Pettigrew of Cadiz; two brothers, Reese Pettigrew of Indianapolis, Ind., and Edward LaPrade of Alexandria, Va.; three daughters, Rhonda Pettigrew and Gwen Pettigrew, both of Louisville, and Pamela Hill of Hopkinsville; a sister, Bobbie Crump of Dayton, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
