Scrap metal theft

Cadiz Police Officer Duncan Wiggins arrested three suspects, identified as Terry Frank, 21, of Norwood, Penn., Alex L. Williams, 19, of Wichita Kan., and Teddy T. Marks 21, also of Wichita, Kan., and charged them with theft of scrap metal from Benson International.

Wiggins’ report said that he received a complaint that the trio allegedly attempted to take scrap metal without permission. He said that plant employees observed the three suspects loading a utility trailer nearly half full with metals. The report said that suspects removed the metal from the trailer prior to police arrival, though Benson employees held the suspects vehicle in the parking lot by securing a gate. Wiggins charged them with Theft by Unlawful Taking, a felony, given the value of the metals exceeded $300.

Suspended License

Cadiz police officers charged Columbus McGee, Jr., 42, of New Hope Road, Cadiz with driving with a suspended license due to a previous conviction from DUI on April 10. The arrest report said that an officer stopped the suspect for parking in the roadway. Upon checking on the status of McGee’s license, the officer learned it had been suspended since 2002 for DUI. Given the previous conviction, the police charged McGee with Driving with a Suspended License (first offense) with Aggravated Circumstances.

Possession of crack cocaine

Sharon D. Gray, 39, of Wallace Ave., Cadiz faces charges of Possession of Crack Cocaine, First Degree, a first offense after an April 10 traffic stop. The arrest report alleges that the driver of the vehicle she rode in was arrested for another offense. During the stop, the officer searched the vehicle finding what he believed to be a crack rock concealed between the seats. The officer administered a field test indicating that the substance was cocaine. When confronted, the suspect allegedly admitted that the crack belonged to her.

Suspended license

On April 11, the Cadiz Police Department arrested Terrell Henderson, 38, of Montgomery Church Road, Cadiz for Driving with Expired Registration and Driving on a Suspended License due to a prior DUI.

The arrest report said that the investigating officer ran the suspect’s tag through the National Crime Information Center, which revealed they expired on February 28. The operator’s license also allegedly returned as suspended to a prior DUI. The report added that Henderson also faced charges for driving with a suspended license in the past.
