Auditions for this year’s summer’s musical, “Alice in Wonderland,” will be held at the Little Theater next week.

Director Portia Ezell said that this version of “Alice” was created for the Prince Street Players, and is ideal for touring companies and community theaters. The script and song lyrics were written by Jim Eiler, who cowrote the music with Jeanne Bargy, according to www.mtishows.com. Ezell said the show would be suited to a large cast.

“I think the kids are going to be delighted,” she said at this month’s Janice Mason Art Museum board of directors meeting. The museum, through the performing arts group SKIT (Southern Kentucky Independent Theater) is sponsoring the show.

Auditions for the show will be on May 23 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. Another session will be on May 24 at 10 a.m. The cast will be announced on May 26, and the first read-through of the script will be June 2 at 6 p.m.

Production dates will be July 11, 12, 13, 18 and 19.
