The graduation service for the Trigg County High School Class of 2008 will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 30, in the high school gym.

High school guidance counselor Janay Futrell said that Elizabeth Dunn would be valedictorian and that Terah Goins would be salutatorian. Special recognition will be given at the ceremony to A.J. Bridges and Taylor Bryant, who graduated on May 10 from the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky. This is the first year the academy has been open. Futrell also said that Stephanie Thorpe would be the only recipient of the Commonwealth Diploma this year. Futrell said Monday that 135 seniors were scheduled to graduate.

Over the last weekend, copper wiring was stolen from the gym, and Superintendent Tim McGinnis said personnel were working to get the air conditioning fixed in time for graduation. He said that if the problem was not solved in time, it was possible that the service could be held at Perdue Field.
