The event is sponsored by PACS-RSVP, the City of Cadiz, the Little River Committee, the Pennyrile Resource Conservation & Development, as well as local businesses, each June. Several days before the even the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife stocks the park pond with fish of all sizes. Some of them have tags that can be redeemed for cash prizes. After catching each fish, the children can have them weighed and measured at a nearby station. Fishing poles are provided, and prizes are given in each age group for the smallest and largest fish, as well the most fish caught. The event is for kids aged three to 15. There is a one-dollar registration fee.
