Cadiz Police Officer Matt Dolezal and Major Duncan Wiggins arrested Gary Moore, 27, of Clarksville, Tennessee on June 30 on the strength of a Stewart County, Tenn. warrant for an alleged hit-and-run.

Cadiz Police Chief Hollis Alexander said that his officers were advised of the warrant via teletype before making the arrest. While investigating at the fireworks tent at Midway and Main, the officers noted the alleged possession and sale of pyrotechnics banned by Kentucky Statute, and impounded a 1996 Ford Mustang involved in the hit-and-run.

Alexander said that the department does not have a screening policy about peddlers entering the City from other areas, but if approached about warrants on the individual or questions about the background of a peddler his department would investigate.
