With another month of fair weather behind them, Codell Construction Management Representative Richard Mitchell reported an estimated completion date of June 3, 2009 to the Trigg County Project Development Board.

“We’re 75 percent complete with our steel erection. We’ve poured the back half of the second floor and the front of the third,” said Mitchell.

Circuit Court Judge and Board Member C.A. “Woody” Woodall III said, “It’s amazing to me to see that amount of concrete and steel in downtown Cadiz.”

Mitchell said, “That was half-a-million dollars worth of steel delivered on just four trucks.”

According to Mitchell, the project is proceeding with electrical and mechanical work in the basement area, and expected steel studs to be added to the frame this week. Next week, he expects the building to be enclosed with sheet rock. “The steel work will be completed next month, except for the tower. We hope limestone will be delivered then as well. “

On-site Supervisor David Welker said that the two towers needed to have the stairs placed within them before work could be completed on them. He said that studs for the stairs were presently being installed and that the top cones should be ready for placement on the towers in August. “We want to do as much as we can before we lift them,” he added.”

Mitchell said, “Those tops are going to weigh 10,800 pounds once each one is equipped.”
