Dr. and Mrs. Clifford Poppens of Cadiz announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Emily Rose, to William Clay McDaniel, son of Larry and Sherri McDaniel of Owensboro.

Emily is the granddaughter of Fagan and Erline Pace of Oak Grove and Harold Poppens of Viborg, S.D., and the late Sarah Poppens. She is a graduate of Daviess County High School and Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn., and sells pharmaceuticals for Astra-Zenica.

William is the grandson of Mary Catherine York of Owensboro and the late Bill York and Vevoleen McDaniel of Owensboro, and the late Ray McDaniel. He is a graduate of Daviess County High School and the University of Kentucky and is a senior research analyst for W.K. Capital Management.

The wedding is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, 2008, at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Fla.
