Her brother, Rev. Johnnie Ahart, officiated at the services. Burial followed in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Mrs. Vinson died on Sunday, August 3, 2008, at 8:52 a.m., at Manor Care-Riverview in East Peoria.
Mrs. Vinson was born on October 20, 1920, in Golden Pond, Ky. She was the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Bratton Ahart.
Mrs. Vinson was an inspector for 43 years at Burgett’s Golf/Glove Factory in Peoria, retiring in 1990, and was of the Southern Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lester Vinson, married in 1939 in Dover, Tenn., and died in 1986; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Fennell of Washington; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnnie and Murl Ahart of Cadiz, and Conley and Dixie Ahart of Tremont; eleven nieces and nephews; eleven great-nieces and nephews; and sixteen great-great-nieces and nephews.
