Funeral services for Robert “Husky” Hunter, 75, were conducted on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 10 a.m., at King’s Funeral Home.

Revs. Terry Mitcheson, Danny Mitcheson, and Kenny Rogers officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Hunter Cemetery in Trigg County with Military Rites.

Mr. Hunter died on Monday, August 4, 2008, at 3 p.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Hunter was born on September 17, 1932, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Robert Elmo and Gujula Galshah Hunter.

Mr. Hunter was a retired heavy equipment operator; a U.S. Army veteran; and member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Hunter of Cadiz; son, Marty Hunter of Trigg County; daughter, Melanie Atwill of Fulton; step son, Barry Braboy of Trigg County; brother, Wayne Hunter of Florida; sister, Bernice Allen of North Carolina; three grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

John Hainsworth, guitarist/vocalist, Becky Waldrup, soloist, and Clarissa King, pianist provided the music.

Serving as pall bearers were J.L. Atwill, Billy Mitcherson, Barry Braboy, M.C. Oakley, Butch Hunter, and Dwight Smith.
