Welcome back kind readers to the last article I’ll write before the football season officially begins. Yes Virginia, there is a scoreboard, and it will be used. I do not understand any kind of sporting event where there isn’t a scoreboard. I’ll take the “score keeping” side in any debate anywhere. “These little kids are too little to understand losing Shutterbug” I heard someone say. Too young to learn about hard work and rewards? “Nay”, say I, who hasn’t been on a winning team since Reagan took the oath. Anyway, I just thought I would throw that out there since I missed the scrimmage this week against Graves County. I understand Trigg still has some kinks to work out, but I have great faith in the players and coaching staff that the Wildcats will be ready to take on border rivals Hopkinsville this coming Friday at the Stadium of Champions.

Speaking of Coaches I want to go on record of commending our coaching staff, not just for their gridiron abilities but their teaching abilities as well. As I watched and listened to them a few weeks ago talking about the players, they were just as concerned about them growing as young men and students, as winning games.
