Rev. Todd Hawkins officiated at the services. Burial followed at Mt. Kenton Cemetery, Paducah, KY.
Mr. Messmer died on Friday, August 22, 2008, in his home after a long illness.
Mr. Messmer was born March 5, 1948, in Washington, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Susan York Messmer, Paducah, one son, Eric Messmer, Vienna, IL, three daughters, Lori Messmer, Gracey, Cassandra Messmer Browder, Linton, and Miranda Messmer, Cadiz, one stepson, Matthew MorrisMorales; three step daughters, Gayle Hall, Joclyn Travis, and Kayla York all of Paducah, KY, eight grandchildren; Devon and Daron Morris; Stephan, Shon and Schylar Messmer; Brianna and Ashley Messmer; and Aaron Adams, five step grandchildren; Alyssa and Christian Hall; Josh Fritz and Gavin Travis; and Corbin Morales.
