Trigg County recovered an onsides kick on the game’s opening play. Antonio Grubbs scored on a three-yard run following the onsides kick as Trigg County went out in front 7-0.
The Wildcats moved out in front by two touchdowns when speedster Brandon Bridges returned a punt 41 yards for a touchdown. Trigg County led 14-0 before Murray answered. Bridges’ touchdown came with 6:17 remaining in the opening quarter.
A stingy Trigg County defensive unit limited Murray minus-four yards in the first half.
Trigg County penalties allowed Murray to stay in the game. For the game, Trigg County was flagged 14 times for 167 yards.
Murray got on the scoreboard in the first minutes of the fourth quarter when Jordan Garland hooked up with Adam Peebles on a 17-yard scoring pass.
Murray could not cut deeper into the lead following a missed kick.
John Reinick added a 28-yard field goal for Trigg County with 6:23 remaining.
