Host Trigg County got the first of many scores from its defensive unit Friday night at home on Perdue Field against Fulton County. The Wildcats set the tone early on. Trigg County never faltered at home in its regular-season finale. The Wildcats outscored Fulton County 31-0 in the first half en route to a convincing 53-0 victory.

Playing inspired football, Trigg County rolled up 472 yards of total offense.

Brandon Bridges paced Trigg County in the regular-season finale. Bridges scored on exactly half of his carries, rushing eight times for 121 yards and four touchdowns. The talented Trigg County running back scored on rushes of 1, 53, 23 and 33 yards, respectively. Bridges was also on the receiving end of a 37-yard touchdown pass,

Bridges and fellow senior Donald Bush were fabulous on Senior Night. Bush completed six of eight passes for 152 yards. In addition to hooking up with Bridges on a touchdown toss, Bush dialed up Will Stagner on a 31-yard scoring pass.

The Wildcats recorded a safety on Fulton County’s first drive. Trigg County got on the scoreboard with its initial touchdown with 8:54 remaining in the first quarter when Bridges capped off an opening game drive with a one-yard touchdown rush. The Wildcats exited the first quarter out in front 9-0.

Trigg County scored three more times in the second quarter.

Shelton Burress also reached the endzone for Trigg County in the regular-season finale, scoring on a 38-yard run.

Burress rushed six times for 128 yards.

Mitch Rogers provided a conversion run and Josh Adams snagged a conversion pass from Rogers in the Trigg County triumph.

Wildcat kicker John Rienick drilled five extra points for the home team.

Defensively, Trigg County held Fulton County to 120 total yards.

Trigg County concluded the regular-season 5-5. The Wildcats will host Todd County Central Friday night in the first round of the Class 2A Playoffs.
