Wayne County defeated Trigg County 39-33. The Lady Midcats carried a n 18-17 lead into halftime of the game versus tradition-rich Wayne County. Trigg County also led in the second half before faltering.
Khadijah Grubbs paced Trigg County with a team-best 19 points. Rachel Want followed with six points for the Midcats.
Allison Greene contributed three points for Trigg County while Karli Bush and Leonzerrae Grubbs scored two apiece. Allyssa Stallons rounded out the Trigg County scoring with one point.
Meyzeek Middle defeated Trigg County 45-29 in a consolation bracket game. The Louisville-based team owned a 28-19 lead over Trigg County at the conclusion of the third quarter.
Khadijah Grubbs led Trigg County with 11 points. Greene netted seven points and Want pushed in five for the Trigg County Middle School unit.
Crosby Middle School (Middletown, Louisville) will face Lebanon Middle School (Marion County) in the championship game of the state tournament Saturday, Nov. 28 at Rupp Arena.
