The Trigg County girls' cross country team finished sixth in the meet with 148 points. Muhlenbergh South (32 points) won the girls' meet, finishing in front of Union County (64), Union County (64), Calloway County (102), Paducah Tilghman (110), Webster County (116) and the Lady Wildcats.
Trigg County finished 10th the Class 2A, Region 1 boys' meet.
Romaine Cunningham, who finished 26th overall in a time of 18:26.28, led the Wildcats. Jay Jolly finished 27th in 18:26.69 for the Trigg County boys' cross country team.
Jakelze Martin (59th, 20:58.46), Matt Savage (64th, 22:33.51), Garrett Brown (66th, 22:40.40) and Raymond Cronin (71st, 29:38.91) also competed for the Wildcats.
Calloway County claimed the boys' team title with 55 points. Webster County (74), Muhlenberg North (104), Logan County (138) and Hopkins County Central (143) finished behind the Lakers.
Muhlenberg South Hgh School hosted the Class 2A, Region 1 meet.
Byers will now compete in the state cross country meet Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park.
