Midcat Boys Still Undefeated In District Play

The Trigg County Boys Basketball Teams scored a couple of district victories last week.

The boys traveled to Livingston on Tuesday and came home with a couple of victories. The 7th Grade team won the first game by the score of 41 – 25. Top scorers in the game were Cole Gardner with 10 points, Corbin Estes with eight points with Luke McKenzie, Nick Choate and Warren Jones all adding four points apiece. The 8th Grade team won the second game 86 – 14. Top scorers in the game were Jordan Davis with 19 points, DeOnquez Nance with 14 points, Jermya Love with 10 points, Luke McKenzie with eight points, David Wease and Travis Desrochers both added seven points each with Brien Dossett contributing six. ‘I was very impressed that 14 out of 15 players scored in the game’, said coach Morton. ‘Our boys did a tremendous job’.

Trigg hosted Lyon County on Thursday the 7th Grade team added to their perfect season by defeating Lyon 54 – 7. Top scorers in the game were Luke McKenzie with 15 points, Cole Gardner with eight points, with Corbin Estes, Brien Dossett, and Keshawn Davis all adding six points each and Jayven Jones contributing five. The 8th Grade team was also victorious over Lyon by the scoring margin of 64 – 27. Top scorers of the game were DeOnquez Nance with 20 points, Jordan Davis with 14 points, Jermya Love with eight points and Luke McKenzie adding five points. ‘Several spectators, both from Trigg and Lyon, and a high school coach expressed to me that they were very impressed with both teams’ said coach Morton. ‘They said they were especially impressed with the defensive strength our boys possess. I couldn’t agree with them more. We truly have a good group of young men’.
