Mr. Bridges was born on October 4, 1913, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late Jesse C. and Myrtress Davis Bridges.
Mr. Bridges was a carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mize Bridges in 2003; a sister, Myra L. Hargrove; and two brothers, Conrad Bridges, and C.T. Bridges.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Lynn Hester; a son and daughter-in-law, Dwain and Linda Bridges, all of Granite City; a sister, Elaine B. Leneave of Paducah; and three grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Steve Scarborough of St. Charles, Mo., Emily and Wes Cottrell of Holiday Shores; and Kyle S. Bridges of Las Vegas, Nev.; three nieces locally, Grace Lane Hancock, Florence Mayfield, and Carolyn Williams; and numerous relatives in Trigg County.
