Aneta Sloma led Livingston Central with a game-high 21 points. Jordan Kirkham added 16 points for the Lady Cardinals in the district triumph.
Three different Livingston Central players reached double figures scoring in the district matchup. Mariah Owen added 10 points for Livingston Central in its season-opener.
Livingston Central outscored Trigg County 13-10 in the opening quarter. The Lady Cardinals carried a 30-22 lead into halftime after expanding their lead in a 17-12 second quarter that went in their favorite.
Opening the second half in strong fashion, Livingston Central doubled up the Lady Wildcats 14-7 in the third quarter.
Elysia Brown paced Trigg County with a team-best 12 points. Brooke Kearney was the second-leading scorer for the Lady Wildcats. Kearney finished with 11 points. Janada Acree and Matlock aided the Trigg County offensive effort with nine and eight points, respectively. Audrey Futrell scored three points and Kristian Wortham added two points in the Trigg County setback.
The Trigg County girls’ basketball team opened the season on a winning note Tuesday, Dec. 2, defeating Fulton City 50-33.
