That is what was said by members of the Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce discussed The Biggest Loser, a program it is helping with in partnership with Trigg County Hospital and Cadiz area businesses, when it met at Cadiz Family Restaurant at 12 noon on Wednesday, Jan. 14.
“We’ve already had so many inquiries at the hospital, just from folks hearing about this on the radio,” Audra Hodges, director of marketing and human resources for the hospital. “The verbal inquiries I’ve gotten as well as the verbal commitments have been countless.”
Chamber President John Durden, as well as Hodges and Hospital Board Member Mallory Lawrence discussed the details of the program and fielded questions. Hodges said that although it was originally intended for Trigg County residents, after getting phone calls from Hopkinsville, it has been opened up to people from the surrounding counties.
“From the moment I heard this idea, I was very excited about the possibilities of it,” said Durden. “The Chamber of Commerce is extremely excited to partner with Trigg County Hospital in this very worthwhile community-wide competition.”
The first official weigh-in will be held at the hospital’s conference room from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, in order to coincide with National Heart Month, and the final weigh-in will be at the same place and time on Monday, April 27. However, Hodges encouraged groups to have weekly weigh-ins as well.
