Host Trigg County grabbed an early lead and never looked back on Monday, Feb. 9 in a home game versus Reidland. The Lady Cats snapped a three-game losing streak in stellar fashion, defeating Reidland 63-32.

Trigg County outscored Reidland 16-6 in the opening quarter. The Lady Cats maintained a lead at the end of each quarter. Trigg County led 30-16 at the intermission.

Janada Acree paced Trigg County with a double-double of 18 points and 21 rebounds. Acree ranked as the game’s leading scorer and rebounder.

Morgan Parker pushed in nine points for the Lady Cats. Audrey Futrell and Trinity Wortham each had eight points for Trigg County. Brooke Kearney and Dori Sheehan scored six points apiece while Brown added four. Kameo Bingham and Alyssa Maxey rounded out the Trigg County scoring with two points apiece.

“This was our first home game back after the ice storm and felt good to play a game on our home floor again, especially when our girls have had so much success playing there this year,” said Trigg County Coach Amy Breckel. “We were able to press Reidland and get an early lead. This helped us work on getting our basketball legs back. Janada Acree put together a solid game with her 18 points and she was all over the place on boards. She had 21 rebounds which is an outstanding accomplishment. She has an outside shot of getting 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds before she graduates. If she keeps performing the way she did in this game she will definitely accomplish the rebounding goal.”

Trigg County led 46-36 at the conclusion of the third quarter of the non-region matchup.
