Funeral services for James O. Joiner, 84, of Cadiz, were conducted on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Denny Francis and Rev. Wayne Glass officiated at the services. Burial followed at Flat Lick Cemetery, in Christian Co., with Military Honors.

Mr. Joiner died on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah of natural causes.

Mr. Joiner was born on Thursday, March 27, 1924, in Christian Co. He was the son of the late Robert and Ann Reynolds Joiner.

Mr. Joiner was retired from Greyhound Bus Line. He was a member of Donaldson Creek Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran serving in WWII and a member of the American Legion and VFW.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Haydon Joiner and Deloy Joiner, and three sisters, Eva Buchanan, Wava Stanford-Elsbernd and Marie Joiner.

Survivors include five nephews, Jim Buchanan, Warsaw, KY, Joseph D. Buchanan, Cincinnati, OH, Darrell Buchanan, Cincinatti, OH, Larry Joiner, TN, Kenny Joiner, Cincinnati, OH, two nieces, Dianne Hall, Fairfield, OH, and Vicky Campbell, Cincinnati, OH and one cousin, Frances Lawa.

Rose Bush, Pianist and Donaldson Creek Baptist Church Choir provided the music.
