The café is located at the junction of RR276 and RR128 in Wallonia. The manager is Sheryl Thomas, the owner is Charlie Kennedy and Eva Dell Joiner and Rhonda Howard are on the staff.
Located in the farm community of Wallonia, Kentucky, and surrounded by the fields of the biggest and most successful farmers in Trigg County, Sheryl Thomas has opened the Wallonia Cafe after extensive remodeling and improvements.
Three of the farms bordering the café, which seats roughly 60 – 80, include Seven Springs Farms, Cundiff Farms and Cook Farms.
The cafe has had a long history in the daily life of this small community located just six miles north east of Cadiz. ?Once owned by Betty Sanders, the Wallonia Diner has been a fixture and compass point for farmers and travelers since the 1950’s.
Eva Dell Joiner, a life long resident of Wallonia is a great source of local lore and after many years of work in the produce department of the local Food Giant, she is happy to be behind the counter serving up tasty salads for the lunch crowd.
Rhonda Howard, a nursing student who moved to the area from Cincinnati, Ohio, waitresses from open through and keeps the coffee cups and sweet tea glasses filled to the rim.
Sheryl Thomas, a 28 year veteran of the restaurant business, manages all the details with a smile and good farm fare served up at the grill. ?Saturday hours start up on April 18th to coincide with turkey season.
