Bro. Dean Ray and Bro. Ronnie Fox officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Lamasco Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died on Monday, April 6, 2009, at 6:45 p.m. in a nursing facility after a long illness.
Mrs. Thompson was born on Friday, February 28, 1930 in Lyon County. She was the daughter of the late James Samuel and Euna Williamson Thorp.
Mrs. Thompson was retired from public service as a Lyon Co. government employee. She served as an administrative assistant to her late husband during his terms in office as Lyon Co. Judge Executive and as a Deputy Sheriff during his terms as county sheriff, Mrs. Thompson and her husband owned and operated Thompson’s Market in Lamasco. She was a member of the Lamasco Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk. She served on the Lyon Co. Democratic Executive Committee and was a member of the Lyon Co. Democratic Woman’s Club, V.F.W. and the Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Thorp, and one sister, Lucy Elizabeth Thorp.
Survivors include two sons Dr. Stassen Thompson and wife, Sherry, Seneca SC, Gary L. Thompson and wife, Nancy, Cadiz, five grandchildren, Todd Thompson and wife, Hannah, Scotts Valley, CA, Taryn Kuebelbeck and husband, Jason, Plymouth, MN, Shawn Thompson, Lamasco, Jared Thompson and wife, Crystal, Cadiz, Paige Callaway and husband, Cody, Clarksville, five great grandchildren, Seri Thompson, Rex Thompson, Hallie Kuebelbeck, Cecelia Kuebelbeck, Seth Clark, one brother, James E. “Shaq” Thorpe and wife, June, Lyon Co., two sisters, Pauline Cummins and husband, Quentin, Lyon Co., Mildred Beck, McCracken Co., and several nieces and nephews.
