Funeral services for Delores Ann Thomas Sanders, 74, Hopkinsville, were conducted on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Kim Combs officiated at the services. Burial followed at Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery, in Caldwell Co., KY.

Mrs. Sanders died on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 11:38 p.m. at her residence in Hopkinsville, of natural causes.

Mrs. Sanders was born on Monday, June 18, 1934, in Trigg Co. She was the daughter of the late Harmon Layton and Vira Esteen Bridges Thomas.

Mrs. Sanders was retired from the Kentucky Farm Workers Program and a former part time employee at the Indian Hills IGA. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, life time member of the Kentucky PTA, she was a notable advocate of the mentally handicapped, and was also noted for decorating her home on Ft. Campbell Blvd. at each Holiday.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Nacy C. Sanders.

Survivors include daughter and son in law, Cindy and Charles Ellis, Hopkinsville, Daughter, Benita Dawn Sanders, of Hopkinsville, and one grandson, Chip Ellis.

Clarence King, pianist and Jim Outland, vocalist, provided the music.

The family request that expressions of sympathy be given in the name of Jesus for the enhancement of our Lord’s work.
