According to a Kentucky State Police press release, Cracker Barrel employee Justin Cook, 19, of Cadiz, was arrested and charged with second degree arson in connection with the fire. He reportedly set several small fires within the restaurant.
Cook was lodged in the Christian County Jail, according to the report filed by KSP Detective Frank Gresham. Gresham had received a call about a suspected arson at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday.
According to a press release by Cadiz Fire Chief Kerry Fowler, the Cadiz Fire Department responded to the fire at 2:10 a.m. with two trucks and 15 firefighters, who were at the scene of the fire for about six hours.
The damage to the store was moderate, although a dollar amount for the damage had not been determined at press time. There were no injuries, said Fowler, who added that the fire is being investigated by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Julie Davis at the Cracker Barrel home office in Lebanon, Tenn., said the store is scheduled to be re-opened Sunday.
