Trigg youths among top 10 Relay/ACS fundraisers

Trigg Countians Lydia devillez and Jeffery Ross were featured in the April issue of Paducah Parenting & Family Magazine. They were among the top 10 fundraisers for Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.

Mallory Stewart of McCracken County won the 2009 “Be A Cover Kid” Contest by Paducah Parenting & Family Magazine, C-Plant Federal Credit Union, Krystal Klear Photography and the American Cancer Society.

Stewart raised $3,860 for the Relay For Life of Carlisle County. By raising the most money for Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society, Stewart earned the honor of gracing the cover of the April issue of Paducah Parenting & Family Magazine.

Combined, 37 contest participants who represented Relays For Life in Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Livingston, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg counties raised $26,317 for the American Cancer Society.

The top 10 fundraisers who are also pictured in the magazine include Kinsley of McCracken County ($3,848); Malle of Carlisle County ($3,835); Lydia of Trigg County ($2,315); Emma of Livingston County ($1,500); Boston of Marshall County ($1,205); Carson of Livingston County ($1,097); Hannah and Jonnah of Ballard County ($1,025); Brooklyn and Bryce of McCracken County ($900); Jeffery of Trigg County ($875); and Kenya of Calloway County ($851).

Applications are currently available to participate in the 2009 “Be A Cover Kid” Contest. Pick up an application at the Paducah American Cancer Society office at 3140 Parisa Dr. or call (270) 444-0753, or go to (or your county). The deadline for applications is Friday, April 24, 2009. The contest will run May 1-May 29. The winner will be on the cover of the April 2010 Paducah Parenting & Family Magazine.
