Tradition continues at RA Track meet

Trigg County’s annual Royal Ambassador Track Meet was held Sunday at Perdue Field.

Athletes representing local churches were divided into four age groups (Kindergarten-third grade, fourth-sixth, seventh-ninth and 10th-12th) and competed in 10 events.

Church winners are as follows:

Cadiz Baptist, K-3; Oak Grove, 4-6; Crossroads, 7-9; New Jerusalem, 10-12.

Individual winners are as follows:

Broad Jump – Cyrus Murray, East Cadiz (K-3); Ethan Dossett, Crossroads (4-6); Kyler Hendricks, New Light (7-9); Victor Cmela, New Jerusalem (10-12);

Dashes – Graham Futrell, Cerulean (K-3); Ethan Dossett, Crossroads (4-6); Luke McKenzie, Crossroads (7-9); Victor Cmela, New Jerusalem (10-12);

Football Toss – Darren Brown, Cadiz (K-3); Andrew Terrell, Liberty Point (4-6); Luke McKenzie, Crossroads (7-9); Nathan Danes, New Light (10-12);

Frisbee Golf – Jake Terrell, Liberty Point (K-3); Joey Hillyard, Oak Grove (4-6); Shawn Swaim, East Cadiz (7-9);

Horseshoes – Peyton Noel, Cadiz (K-3); Stanley King, Oak Grove (4-6); Shane Edmonsen, New Jerusalem (7-9); Cody Choate, New Jerusalem (10-12);

Marksmanship – Calvin Hendricks, New Light (K-3); Ethan Murray, East Cadiz (4-6); Nathan Gray, New Hope (7-9); Daniel Ingram, Caldwell Blue Springs (10-12);

Mile Run – Alex Curling, Oak Grove (K-3); Ethan Dossett, Crossroads (4-6); Romaine Cunningham, Cadiz (7-9); Chris McKenzie, East Cadiz (10-12);

Obstacle Course – Micah Brown, Cadiz (K-3); Tyler Simpson, Cadiz (4-6); Joe Palmer, Oak Grove (7-9); Nathan Danes, New Light (10-12);

Strongman Competition – Tyson Bush, Cadiz (K-3); Stanley King, Oak Grove (4-6); Kyler Hendricks, New Light (7-9); Ron Williams, East Cadiz (10-12).

Results from the Softball Throw were unavailable at press time.

Prior to the meet, a devotional was given by Cadiz resident Stacey Futrell, who holds the state RA Track Meet record in the broad jump. The state meet was discontinued over a decade ago.
