The camp will be held May 11-15 from 3-5 p.m. for Kindergarteners-fourth graders and from 5-7 p.m. for fifth-eighth graders.
The camp has traditionally been held during summer break, but because so many school days were lost due to the ice storm in January, availability of Wildcat Gymnasium has been affected.
Wright said several other local schools, including Calloway County, have changed to an after-school camp format and have found success with it.
This year’s camp will focus on fundamentals, ball-handling, shooting, drills, defense, rebounding, footwork, rules and the Wildcat style of play, including drills for fast break and the dribble-drive offense. There will also be a featured speaker each night.
The cost is $40 per child, and each participant will receive a T-shirt, a trophy (provided they finish the camp) and have the opportunity to compete in several contests. The camp is open to boys and girls.
Forms will be available in the Trigg County High School office beginning Monday.
