Graveside services for Willard Hendrix, 87, of 516 Denny Purdy Road, Dawson Springs, formerly of Cerulean were conducted on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 4 p.m. at the Cerulean Cemetery with military rights. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rev. Reed Shepherd officiated at the service. Burial followed in the Cerulean Cemetery.

Mr. Hendrix died on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 8:32 a.m. in Dawson Springs Health and Rehab Center of natural causes.

Mr. Hendrix was born on September 14, 1921 in Christian County. He was the son of the late Cleveland Lee and Valerie Gunter Hendrix.

Mr. Hendrix was a carpenter and retired from maintenance with the Lake Barkley State Resort Park. He was a member of the Cerulean Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran serving WWII.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Laverne Henry Hendrix, two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Marie Ann Hendrix, Dawson Springs, formally of Cerulean, one brother, Cecil Hendrix, Cerulean, one nephew and caretaker, Steve and Sallie Grimes, Dawson Springs, he also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
